Our Open mic has really become a phenomenon over the last few years. Deborah & Kevin have done a wonderful job of creating an event where local musicians can come and demonstrate their talent. It's really a family community of music & support.
Since Oct. 2008, First Street Cafe in Benicia has offered its wonderful Upstairs venue (great restaurant and wine bar with plenty of atmosphere) to a monthly Open Mic Night. Now on a Saturday night from 7-11 pm, Open Mic has attracted a wide array of local area talent, from performers of all styles of music and levels of experience. Open Mic is 'variety night' where you'll hear an eclectic mix of styles, including original music, fresh interpretations of covers, jazz, bluegrass, blues, easy rock, even classical guitar and piano. Deborah Kuhl & Kevin Radley are our open mic hosts. They make everyone feel welcome and confident to perform.
